He died due to a work related injury, because doctors didn't order a MRI or Cat Scan, and just thought it was a back injury, he was bleeding internally for weeks.
This story is about my partner’s death, and how this should never have happened…….
And things that need to be changed in Florida.
I am writing this because they need to know about Claudio Cardenales,
and the type of person he was and that I know he would want his story told.
On May, 13, 2011, my partner was working for a company here in Orlando, FL. They were catering an event in Kissimmee, FL for 5,000 people. This is where he got hurt at work. A little about my partner he was a very hard and dedicated worker for his company. He loved his job so much, it was one of the most important things in his life. He was born January 10, 1978 in Puerto Rico. I meet him in Philadelphia, PA on September 13, 2001. We moved to Orlando, FL in May 2006. He was the type of person, no matter how much money we had, he would give money to someone who needed it, even if we had to go without.

6-9-2011 An Urgent Care Center, Medical Records deleted (don't know why they were deleted)
6-15-2011 An Urgent Care Center, They prescribed pills
6-16-2011 An Urgent Care Center, Medical Records deleted (don't know why they were deleted)
6-19-2011 Tried to get worker's comp approval to take him to a real Hospital
6-20-2011 Waiting for worker's comp approval on real hospital
6-21-2011 Real Hospital, They prescribed pills, gave a shot for pain and 1 x-ray
6-22-2011 Physical Therapy
6-23-2011 Admitted to a real Hospital died 12 1/2 hours later
Cause of death was internal bleeding caused by natural causes of a 33 year old (which is another way for no one to pay for a funeral or any thing else. My partner also had medical insurance. Which is another story, no one wanted the card because they made comments, that this is a workers comp claim and they wanted to make sure they got paid. We can only do what workers comp will pay for.
More details as soon as my lawyer reads them, I have doctors names and names of locations where they made mistakes.One location saw him 5 times and prescribed medicines that could have caused his death. The reason I am writing this is because in Florida, the only one who can bring a lawsuit is a child, or legally married spouse. A brother, sister, parent or partner can not bring a lawsuit in Florida. This is a law that needs to be changed.
